A firmware update for Atomos Ninja V improves post workflow for Final Cut Pro users.
Atomos has released Firmware version 10.64 for the Ninja V, which supports white balance and ISO metadata for Final Cut Pro users. With the updates, shooters can now adjust the slider settings to further optimize your picture in the post.
Atomos recently got a crack with the introduction of the Ninja V Pro Kit, the 8K Ninja V +, and the Ninja Stream. Among the three releases, the Pro Kit is our favorite with existing users as it offers the ability to record recorded video via SDI. With the Ninja V + you get the possibility to record 8K external as well as 4K 120p. For indie shooters this is $ 1,499 price tag might be worth the extra features.
The good news, however, is that Atomos has announced that it will continue to support the Ninja V. Version 10.64 is good news for one of the most popular setups for indie filmmakers, wedding photographers and content creators: a Sony a7S III paired with the Ninja V. With the new metadata, FCP editors have access to better camera and color controls when editing ProRes RAW videos.
