If “Saaransh,” his 1984 debut film had a sequel, veteran actor Anupam Kher would want it to be a thrilling action flick.
“If the second part is done, usmein bhi main hi kaam karunga. (I would work there). I dream of doing the second part as an action movie. He was a man of principle and he won hearts. Not action in terms of beating people up, but as a thriller, ”Anupam told IANS.
“Saaransh” is considered one of Anupam Kher’s best works. Mahesh Bhatt’s film presents the then-28-year-old actor as a heartbroken 58-year-old after the tragic loss of his young son. However, he does not let go of his morals in the face of an unfavorable situation. He is convinced that if a second part of the film is made, he will participate in it.
The actor, now 66, spent 37 years in Bollywood and tried over 500 roles. Speaking of which, Anupam Kher said, “I have always considered myself a star. It is a sign of an uneducated person to differentiate between a character as a hero, a villain, and a star. An actor is an actor.
Anupam Kher added: “Of course there is always a little jealousy that someone played such a powerful role and I should also be doing something brilliant. It’s healthy competition, but ‘Saraansh’ doesn’t never made it feel like that. I always say no one could have played this role except me. I was watching the movie and when I watch it now I don’t feel like it’s me. the magic of this film.
