Amitabh Bachchan took to social media on Tuesday to cheer on the Covid warriors as India battles the deadly second wave of the virus. In a video he tweeted, Big B recites a poem in Hindi written by his father, the late poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

The poem encourages a person to never give up during a battle, fight with all their might, and never bow down or stop halfway.

In the video, after reciting the poem, Amitabh Bachchan says, “These words, written by my father, Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, are a bugle call that reminds us to never give up. They were written at a time when the country faced a different crisis and challenge, but even today they resonate.

Amitabh Bachchan added, “I believe these words celebrate the spirit of the Covid warriors, our frontline workers, who as we all know sacrifice so much for all of us. It’s time to support them and step up the fight against Covid. This is our fight. We can all contribute in any way we can. We must all come together for India. “

Amitabh Bachchan’s message comes as the nation battles the second wave of the pandemic with a growing number of positive cases every day and several states on lockdown.
