The sudden death of actor Amit Mistry, the actor who could play just about anything and anyone, left co-directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK in shock. Speaking hours after the tragedy, Raj said, “Amit was currently working with us on a period web series. There was a leading role. Should he be replaced? I do not know! Right now our mind is numb. We are still trying to come to terms with his death.

The versatile Amit Mistry was featured in several Raj-DK films. Raj recalls: “As soon as 99 which we achieved in 2009, we have launched Amit several times. He was in Shor in the city. Also in our big commercial movie The gentleman. We wanted it Come on Goan Gone. But we both agreed that the role offered to him was not suitable for him. So he chose not to Go Goan Gone. But we have always tried to welcome it in all of our films. He was a brilliant actor, and so underrated.

The series he was currently filming for Raj-DK stars Amit Mistry with Pankaj Tripathy, Kunal Khemu and Patralekha. It is directed on Tumbadd director Rahi Anil Barve. Can Mistry’s role be saved or must it be abandoned? We will find out soon enough.
