AMD GPUs with RDNA 2 Architecture Will Come Up with Huge Performance Boost

New information came from graphics cards that will use RDNA 2 architecture from AMD, the US-based microchip manufacturer. The cards, which we know will be the result of 7 nm + production technology, will offer great performance gains and improved core clock speeds compared to the previous generation.

AMD, which has recently polished its star, has confirmed in a recent statement that the new generation RDNA 2 ‘Big Navi’ desktop GPUs will be ready before Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Now, some information has been shared on the performance improvement of the graphic units of the company using the same architecture.

The source of the information comes from a presentation prepared by the company for investors. In the presentation, it was once again confirmed that the new cards will offer at least 50% increase in performance / watt compared to the previous generation RDNA architecture, more performance per hour, improved and increased GPU and Mem core clock speeds.

AMD wants to increase the price / performance level:

The company also mentions that with the new RDNA 2 architecture, the performance per hour will increase. This performance upgrade, which means an increase in clock speeds, also indicates that we will see faster graphics work and more graphics power per clock pulse on the new generation cards.

We already knew that the new RDNA 2 graphics architecture would be the result of 7 nm + production technology. At this point, the company may be aiming to increase the price / performance level by offering more processing units that can run at higher clock speeds.

When we look at all the developments, we can say that AMD promises higher performance and better efficiency with RDNA 2 architecture. As a result, Sony’s new generation PlayStation 5 console will run at high GPU clock speeds of 2.23 GHz. It wouldn’t be wrong to expect the same thing from RDNA 2 graphics cards.

Other known features of AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture cards include hardware accelerated DirectX Beam Tracking, Variable Rate Shading (VRS) popular with the Xbox Series X, and supports for Mesh Shading. Finally, let’s say that Microsoft’s new Xbox X series consoles will also benefit from these features mentioned above.
