Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi is one of the most anticipated Bollywood films right now. Starring Alia Bhatt as the titular character, the film’s teaser hit the ribs in February and wowed everyone. But one thing that had piqued curiosity was the much talked about Alia dance number. But the latest reports to come out of the vineyard say they aren’t true and Bhatt won’t dance.

Yes, you read that right. According to the Little Birds, there is heartbreaking news and it is said that Alia Bhatt will not be dancing at Gangubai Kathiawadi. The source denied any possibility and is convinced this is not happening. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about the same and everything the source needs to add. Read on.

Conversely, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on a chapter from Hussain Zaidi’s popular novel Mafia Queens Of Mumbai. The film will follow her journey from the time she was swindled by her lover until she became the Madam of the back streets of Kamathipura. According to Bollywood Hungama Now, Alia will not be dancing in the film, unlike previous reports which said she had two songs.

A source close to the development said, “While Gangubai Kathiawadi isn’t a songless movie like SLB’s Black (Sanjay Leela Bhansali), it’s definitely not a musical like Devdas or Saawariya. SLB has composed a few songs for the film which have a dark atmosphere and which will mostly be played in the background. “

The source adds, “She (Alia Bhatt) plays a feared criminal. Where will she have space to dance? At the start of the film, she has a romantic number with her screen lover played by TV actor Shantanu Maheshwari with whom Gangubai runs away as a teenager, only to be betrayed by him.

Meanwhile, Gangubai Kathiawadi will be taking Huma Qureshi for a special issue and updates on this have been available for a long time. The film is scheduled to hit the big screen on July 30, 2021.
