The opus magnum of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Gangubai Kathiawadi with Alia Bhatt seems to have faced the maximum wrath of the pandemic. The film, which was due to end in 2020 and release the same year, has yet to see the light of day. Now the latest report shares an update regarding the making of the film.

Conversely, Bhansali’s film is based on the life of its main character Gangubai Kathiawadi is an adaptation of a chapter from the popular novel by Hussain Zaidi Mafia Queens Of Mumbai. The film has been in production for two years now. He will tell the story of the time she was swindled by her lover until she became the alley madam of Kamathipura.

Filming for Gangubai Kathiawadi star Alia Bhatt was nearing completion earlier this year. The second wave of the coronavirus pandemic hit the country as three days of filming remained over. Now filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is stuck as there is no hope for quick change in the current stalemate.

A source close to the project disclosed the situation to Bollywood Hungama. The source said, “Gangubai Kathiawadi only needs three more days of filming. It’s part of a background song filmed on Alia Bhatt – she doesn’t have lip-syncing songs in this movie – which is almost complete. Bhansali was on the verge of finishing it when the shooting was canceled.

The report further claims that the directors of the film will have a lavish setting in Film City until the remaining filming is completed. The source said: “It is costing co-producers Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada almost 3 lakh rupees per day to prevent the whole thing from being demolished. This turns out to be less profitable than reconstructing the scenery when the shooting is resumed. “

When asked when the producers of the film Gangubai Kathiawadi plan to cover and complete the remaining song, the source said, “Not anytime soon. Even though the lockdown ends, Bhansali has decided not to take any chances by resuming filming immediately. He will not complete this 3-day shoot until the second wave of the Covid declines.
