Filmmaking duo Abbas-Mustan released a behind-the-scenes snapshot with Akshay Kumar on Saturday evening to mark the 29th anniversary of their film “Khiladi”, as well as a poster for the thriller.
In the image, a young Akshay is all smiles at the camera with Abbas and Mustan on either side. The photo appears to have been clicked on during a party surrounding the film’s release.
“Today marks # 29YearsofKhiladi. The first hit of our career. We feel like yesterday with his memories still so vivid in our minds. Remember the whole crew of this very special film on this very special day. Red heart” , the director duo wrote in the caption next to the image on Instagram as well as their verified Twitter account. Look at Akshay Kumar in the photo, haha!

They tagged cast members Akshay Kumar, Ayesha Jhulka, Johnny Lever, Deepak Tijori and Sabeeha, as well as songwriting duo Jatin-Lalit who composed the hit music for the hit film, in addition to the cinematographer. Thomas Xavier and Venus producers.
“Khiladi”, released that day in 1992, was Akshay’s third release and his first big hit. The film launched his fame as an action hero and earned him the nickname Mr. Khiladi of Bollywood, or Khiladi Kumar, and also sparked an unrelated “Khiladi” film series.
For Abbas-Mustan, “Khiladi” was their second outing. They shot in the big leagues after this movie, calling the shots on hits like “Baazigar”, “Soldier”, “Humraaz”, “Chori Chori Chupke Chupke”, “Aitraaz”, “Race” and “Race” 2 “.
Akshay Kumar and Abbas-Mustan would work in “Ajnabee” (2001) and “Aitraaz” (2004) after “Khiladi”.
