EXCLUSIVE: The Expendables Millennium Media outfit is underway in her Bulgarian studio Nu Boyana on horror thriller Abyzou, which is loosely based on a popular Jewish tale.
Starring will be Nick Blood (Agents of SHIELD), Emm Wiseman (Winchester), Allan Corduner (Country), Paul Kaye (The iron Throne), Daniel Ben Zenou (7 days in Entebbe) and Jodie Jacobs (The West End’s Rock of ages).
Set in a Hasidic community, the photo follows a family struggling with unresolved trauma who find themselves at the mercy of an ancient demon determined to destroy them from within.
Directed by Oliver Park (Strange events), the script comes from Hank Hoffman (The clinic) based on a story by Hoffman and Jonathan Yunger from Millennium.
Millennium’s Jeffrey Greenstein, Les Weldons, Yunger and Yariv Lerner and screenwriter Hoffman will produce with Millennium’s Sam Schulte as co-producer. Millennium’s Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson and Tanner Mobley are executive producers.
“We are very happy to begin production today at Nu Boyana Studios. The number of Covids in Bulgaria has decreased over the past two months, which allows us to produce the best film without compromise while respecting the strict production protocols that have been put in place, ”said Yunger.
He continued: “Abyzou is something that is close to our hearts. Being able to tell a story rooted in Jewish mysticism while being wrapped up in a commercial horror film that will scare audiences away is very exciting to me and we can’t wait to bring it to the world.
Covid-19 deaths in Bulgaria had fallen to nine yesterday after peaking at 221 in November.
