Adrienne Bankert, Former ABC News Correspondent, Joins NewsNation – Deadline

Today, Nexstar Media Group, Inc. announced that Emmy-winning journalist Adrienne Bankert has joined its NewsNation cable network as a presenter and correspondent.

Bankert will begin in his new role covering national affairs and delivering special reports on weekly night broadcasts during the news network’s prime time. Later in 2020, it will begin anchoring a new national newscast, as NewsNation continues to expand its programming in all periods.

Previously, Bankert was a national correspondent for ABC News. In that role, which she took on in 2015, she has covered breaking news on both coasts and some of the biggest stories of the past decade, including the 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, the mass shooting at Marjory High School. Stoneman Douglas of Parkland Florida. and more. At ABC, she has also reported on the entertainment industry, interviewing such prestigious talents as Lady Gaga and Brad Pitt. Separately, investigative reporter Bill Melugin hired as a national correspondent for FOX News Channel, after working as an investigative reporter for FOX-owned Los Angeles station KTTV. Joining the KTTV team in 2017, Melugin would win two Golden Mike Awards for Best Investigative Journalism from the Radio & TV News Association of Southern California, also winning a local Emmy Award in 2019. Prior to his stint at KTTV, Melugin worked as a presenter and investigative reporter at FOX station WJZY-TV in Charlotte, NC, as an alternate presenter at the FOX KFOX-TV branch in El Paso, TX. . He will report to the Los Angeles office of the FOX News Channel starting May 3.
