Aditya Chopra launches vaccination campaign for Hindi cinema fraternity

A Covid vaccination campaign for workers in the film industry has started at the studios of Yash Raj Films (YRF), which aims to vaccinate around 4,000 workers in the first phase.

The training, initiated by filmmaker Aditya Chopra, aims to facilitate the resumption of daily activity in Bollywood.

“After vaccinating all YRF employees, we have started to vaccinate our film crew members and are now delighted to have launched the vaccination campaign for the Hindi film industry. This will allow day workers in our industry to return to work and ensure financial stability for themselves and their families, ”said Akshaye Widhani, Senior Vice President of Yash Raj Films.

“The campaign will need to be phased, given the large number of vaccines needed to cover the industry. In the first phase, which starts today, we would be able to immunize at least 3,500 to 4,000 people. YRF is committed to helping restart the industry which has been hit hard by the pandemic, ”Widhani added.

Aditya Chopra, head of YRF, aims to immunize 30,000 registered members of FWICE (Federation of Film Workers of West India). The company has already vaccinated its employees in a previous campaign that took place at YRF studios in Mumbai.

Previously, Aditya Chopra had donated the entire Yash Raj Films (YRF) 50th anniversary celebration budget to help industry and workers, at a time when the country is grappling with the deadly second wave of Covid- 19.

YRF turned 50 in 2020, and Aditya Chopra intended to celebrate this milestone on a global scale. With the second wave of the pandemic shutting down the film industry again, he decided to give the YRF a budget of 50 for the cause.
