Aadar Jain says he doesn’t feel the pressure of giving birth in the same way his maternal grandfather, the legendary Raj Kapoor, did. He’s also optimistic about his upcoming comedy “Hello Charlie,” adding that alleged girlfriend Tara Sutaria says it’s one of his favorites.
“I have a responsibility for my job, but I don’t feel any pressure that I have to accomplish as much or have to deliver in a way that my grandfather probably did in his films, the types of films that he made or something else. There is no pressure from my family or from my parents’ side. The fact that I exist in this industry and that I do what I love, which is to act in Hindi cinema, I think that in itself is something that my family is very proud of ”, Aadar told IANS.
Aadar Jain made his Bollywood debut with Habib Faisal’s 2017 film ‘Qaidi Band’. The film failed to leave a mark, and its next screen appearance is the upcoming digital film “Hello Charlie”, which is scheduled for release on April 9.
Why this gap between the two films? “My first movie came out in 2017, then in 2018 I met (the producer of Hello Charlie) Ritesh (Sidhwani) sir and (the director) Pankaj (Saraswat) sir, and I auditioned. We started filming in 2019 but because of this pandemic I think there is an even bigger gap. 2020 has just passed without you knowing it. So it’s not really in my hands that the film came out late, ”said Aadar Jain.
In the film, Aadar plays Chirag Rastogi or Charlie, a simpleton from a small town in Gujarat. Sharing his experience filming with a gorilla in the film, the actor said, “I had to learn to be with a gorilla (Toto). I had to hang on and relax with it. He had his masters with him but I was afraid. I am an animal lover and have been on many safaris in my life but seeing an animal in the distance and working with it up close and being nearby is very scary.
Aadar Jain also opened up about the reaction of alleged girlfriend Tara Sutaria after watching the movie. He said: “She saw the movie and she really, really loved it. I think she spoke to Pankaj sir too and told him how she felt. She loved all the characters, (the heroine of the film) Shlokka Pandit, the script and the fact that it was so unique and one of a kind. She’s just already saying it’s one of her favorite movies! “
“Qaidi Band” and “Hello Charlie” are completely different movies. What kind of genre would he like to tackle next? “I have always said that I am a big fan of cinema as a whole and that it encompasses all genres. So, for me, it’s not “choose and choose”. The two films that I made, chose them with my heart, which my instinct told me. In the future I think I will only make movies that I can connect to, whether it’s the same genre, a different genre, something very funny (quirky) or something serious, I don’t know but it has to come from within, “he replied.
“Hello Charlie” is slated for release on Amazon Prime Video.
